This beautiful song (the title means “The Green-Stubble Fields of Autumn”) hails from Donegal, and is a love song in which the protagonist is pining for the sweetheart he fell in love with on the green-stubble fields of Autumn and writes that he would trample pasture and wilderness to be with his brown haired girl. We do the first, part of the second and the third verse of this four verse song. Richard first learned this from Clannad and Mícheál Ó Domhnaill’s singing.
