A song from Nova Scotia. The “Caledonia” referred to in the song is a mine. It’s a love song in which we feel that the singer is pining for the woman he calls the “Queen of May” but does not seem to be able to get much farther than that. Richard learned this originally from the singing of the late Tony Cuffe (1954-2001), the former lead singer of the Scottish band Ossian.
